GPS Vs Corino

The territories are dead. They have been for years. America was once filled with several different promotions, where a wrestler could make his living in one area for years at a time. If he had a falling out, he could move to a different area and find work elsewhere. That system has long been admonished and abandon. Wrestlers today are lucky to find a promotion that will book them once every two months. There is no more traveling from town to town anymore. If you don't work for the WWE, you are working part time as a wrestler and full time elsewhere.

There is one man, however, who has been able to make his living strictly from Pro Wrestling. One man who has remained in demand for several years.

There are very few people not signed with WWE that fans will put down, $10, $20 dollars to see. Of that select group how many of them are from the WWE machine? All. Except one.

When people put down their $10 or $20 or whatever the ticket price is, to see Steve Corino, they aren't coming to see the "former" ECW World champion. Nor are they coming to see the former, "NWA/AWA" World champion. They are paying their money, to see "Mr Wrestling 3" Steve Corino. Corino from 2008, not 2001.

Corino has survived a potentially ugly business, because he has always stayed one step ahead of the game and has reinvented himself so many times. Even his moveset of today resembles nothing like his moveset from 2000. Many of the legends of this business look at Corino with admiration and respect, because he is the last link to the SPORT that they loved for so long.

Every locker room Steve Corino steps into ends up better off than before, simply by his presence. If GPS were to defeat Corino on November 15th, would he become an instant locker room leader?

Corino has held the B4W World title for all of 2008, beating every name B4W officials have put in front of him. If he can get by and defeat GPS, who will there be to stop him?

If GPS can defeat Corino and take the title, will that bridge GPS to the Harley Race's, Dusty Rhodes' and so many of the greats in the business?

Corino is the last link to the old school way of Pro Wrestling, a way that many said was gone. Being in demand in every state in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Germany, England, and Japan and virtually anywhere that holds a wrestling event has made Corino one of the great champions of all time.

If GPS can defeat Corino on November 15th in Neptune NJ, will that make him an even GREATER champion?
