May 5th is a Japanese National Holiday that occurs during Golden Week and is known as “Kodomo no hi” or “Children’s Day.” On this day the child of ZERO1 gaijin wrestler Steve Corino will return to Japan, this time as a professional wrestler. Since his Father began appearing for ZERO1 back in 2001, Colby Corino has traveled a few time to Japan in the past. Time passes quickly, and now Colby is 13 and a tag team champion with his father in the WORLD-1 promotion.
Current WORLD-1 Tag Team champions, Steve and Colby Corino will participate on both the May 5th and May 8th show in Osaka. On “Kodomo no hi” they will defend their tag titles against Masato Tanaka and Kenta Kakinuma, and then on May 8th they will be in a 6-man tag along with Hartley “The Bull” Jackson against Tanaka, Kakinuma and a wrestler to be named. Colby sent a comment to the ZERO1 offices:
“I’m glad I can go to ZERO1 as a wrestler this time. Because I’m entering the ring next to my Dad I plan to do my best! Whether I win or lose, he always tells me to do my best! I hope one day to have a singles match against Hashimoto Jr. Though I’m tense for my Japanese debut…I’ll do my best!”

1- WORLD-1 North American Champion Ricky Reyes defeated Alex Anthony by submission.
2- Matt and Bryan Logan defeated Damian Dragon and Adam Cole, when Matt pinned Cole with a victory roll.
3- WORLD-1 Heavyweight ChampionChris Rockwell was disqualified against Ryan Sawyer after a low blow.
4- “Hitman” Tony Stetson (with “The Beast” Glen Osbourne) defeated “Mr. Wrestling III” (with “The Certified Genius” Rob Dimension) with a rollup to win the TWA Heavyweight Championship.
- After the match, Rob Dimension revealed Mr. Wrestling III to be TommyThunda and not Steve Corino. TWA Commissioner Joel Goodhart ruled that Tony Stetson had defeated Mr. Wrestling III, but did not win the title from Steve Corino, the champion, so the title went back to Corino’s camp. TWA Promoter & Owner Mike Tartaglia (aka “Hitman” Michael Bruno) entered the ring and overruled Goodhart saying Stetson did not win the title, but that Corino forfeited the title by virtue of his failure to make his scheduled title defense. As Tartaglia declared the title vacant, Breaker Morant, who earlier won a permanent roster spot and a future Championship Match in the Gauntlet Match, entered the fray and cashed in his right to a championship match on the spot. Tartaglia made the match for the vacant TWA Heavyweight Title between Tony Steston and Breaker Morant.
5- USA vs FRANCE FLAG MATCH (loser must wave the flag of the winners’ country)- “The Red, White & BLUE Express” The Blue Meanie & Kid America (with Mini-America) and Shockwave the Robot defeated “Team France ” Mr. Ooh La La & Robere’ Shields and Billy Bax (with Carlton P. Hightower), after Shockwave hit a top rope legdrop on Ooh La La. After Team France waved the USA Flag, a ton of kids entered the ring to dance and celebrate with Meanie, Kid America and Shockwave the Robot.
Thank you to everyone involved with the TWA, especially the fans, who made this event a fun afternoon and a success.
