dsc04631WORLD-1 “Birthday Bash” Results: New Tag Team Champions!!!

By Curt Lemon

If you thought that a wrestling company doing a small show for a 12 year olds birthday party cried “B Show” then you thought wrong! And thanks to Alex Anthony, this birthday party would be one not soon forgotten.

Young Davey Farve and over 50 of his friends and family enjoyed pizza, soda, and 60 minutes of Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1 action. Not only did they get action, they got history!!!

Super Sweet started the event in the middle of the ring to thank the crowd (Sweet is Davey Farve’s favorite wrestler!) but was rudely interrupted by Rob Dimension. Dimension said that he didn’t care whose birthday it was and called President Kehner into the ring.

Dimension told Kehner that he thought it was stupid that WORLD-1 tag team champions Ricky Reyes and Ryan Sawyer have not defended the W-1 tag team titles since winning them on December 27, 2009 and that it would be a shame that the birthday boy wouldn’t get a title match. This brought the fiery Ryan Sawyer to the ring. He told Kehner that he was a fighting champion and that if Dimension wanted The Corino’s to get a title shot, then fine with him. He warned Dimension that even though Colby Corino is 13, he would not take it easy on him.

The match started as more of an exhibition as the young Colby Corino went to the mat with Ricky Reyes. Finally after the 10 minute mark, Ryan Sawyer and Steve Corino were trading near falls when Alex Anthony appeared at ringside. The leader of BLKFriday was trying to instigate Reyes into a fight but the referee refrained Reyes from coming off the apron. While the referee was distracted Anthony hit the 4-2-Ohhhh on Sawyer, who was then covered by the older Corino for the win.

Reyes told the fans that he would not let Anthony away with this and invited the birthday party to WORLD-1’s State Of Emergency in Jackson, NJ to watch him defend the North American title against VSK. President Kehner, GPS, Kid America, and Super Sweet entered the ring to help Sawyer and Reyes. Although Sawyer wanted no part of it, Reyes stayed in the ring and sang “Happy Birthday” to Davey. The after a whisper from the Prez, Super Sweet told Davey and his friends that they would all receive free tickets to Sunday’s event! Amazing what you can get with a W-1 Birthday Party!!!

While Steve Corino and Rob Dimension celebrated their win, young Colby Corino was a bit down after the match.

“It’s a great feeling to win the tag team titles, but I really didn’t want to win them this way” said Colby Corino. “I understand sometimes why my dad wrestles the way he does but that doesn’t mean that I want to wrestle that way. I like the cheers of the crowd. I like teaming and learning under Kid America. I hope he understands that even though we won the tag team titles I am going to keep learning from America.”

When I asked Steve Corino what he thought he said quickly “Colby’s a good kid. Always has been. He is just learning right now but he will be taught that learning is much better when you are winning.”

Rob Dimension is already claiming that Colby Corino will sign with Team Survivor on Sunday at WORLD-1’s State Of Emergency. From what the young Corino said, it doesn’t look like it is going to happen.

W-1 Birthday Party Show!

WORLD-1 SAYS HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Allentown, PA-When David Farve Sr. asked his young son, Davey Jr., what he wanted to do for this 12th birthday party the youngster didn’t miss a beat and said “I want a pro-wrestling party.”

Well, Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1 delivers! This coming Wednesday night, W-1 will produce its first in a new program that brings birthday parties to our fans. Davey Farve, his family, and friends will travel to the W-1 Dojo and enjoy a night celebrating his birthday and four matches. Those matches include:

  1. WORLD-1 tag team champions Ricky Reyes & Ryan Sawyer vs. The Corino’s w/Rob Dimension.
  2. Special 1 on 1 Match: GPS vs. The Monster C
  3. Super Sweet & Kid America vs. The Baltimore Blizzard
  4. Tommy Thunda w/Richard Guille vs. White Panther

WORLD1Online.com asked Double Champion (W-1 tag team and North American) Ricky Reyes about this unique show and he said, “It is about our fan base. January 31 WORLD-1 took a huge step forward and I think everyone agrees that we have found our niche crowd. I am excited to get into the ring under that W-1 banner every time out. This time we are doing it for young Davey!”

W-1 President Mike Kehner was also excited about the new venture. “Kids love wrestling and birthday’s.” laughed the man the in charge, “With our new birthday program, families can either bring their birthday parties to our Dojo or we can go to their houses. It is a fun idea and also gets our W-1 name out there more. At least 50 to 55% of our fan base is under 15 and I guarantee that W-1 Birthday parties are going to produce good wrestling and even more enjoyment.”

The W-1 locker room was very upbeat and supportive except for one person: Rob Dimension, Certified Genius.

“This is BS. Sawyer and Reyes NOT putting the titles on the line? How in the heck are we supposed to teach young Colby Corino the ways of his father and me? OK, I understand that the kid is listening to Kid America and that’s fine for right now but when did KA get him in a main event against the WORLD-1 tag team champions? Never. If Reyes and Sawyer weren’t such cowards they would grant us a tag team title match.”

All four matches will be taped for WORLD-1 TV.

If you are interested in either bringing your birthday party to the W-1 Dojo or having W-1 come to your house, email Ryan at WORLD1Wrestling@GMail.com for information.
